What is Matariki?

Matariki is the Maori name for a cluster of stars. Matariki is the way the maori celebrate new year. It is also a good time to share their stories. Clear and bright stars signalled warm seasons, but not very clear stars or shimmering clusters meant a cold winter was coming. Matariki will be celebrated on the 15th of June in 2018. You can celebrate it by sharing the history and stories of Matariki with your friends and family. You could even plant trees in your garden for Matariki.

THE SECRET OF SPOOKY HOUSE!

One day the little monster did not eat
fried ant and stick insect fries.
She was bored of that.
’’I want pizza’’ she yelled
at the top of her lungs.
Her mum and dad looked
at each other in shock.
"We do not allow pizza in this house’’
her dad bellowed!
The little monster had a huge tantrum
so with a sigh the daddy monster
went out to Dominos to get some pizza.
The little monster was very excited
when dad got home.
They all had a bit then they came back
to eat the whole box.
Munch, munch, munch.
The next day they went
to the pizza store and bought it
so they would never run out of pizza.   

Nature and the new game

    Nature was playing fetch with a small stick because he was only a tuatara but he was getting bored so I  tried to think up a new game. A couple of minutes later I Thought of a new game so I went out to the pool and got out a boat and tied a stick to it and put it in the water . After that I put my tuatara in the water and luckily he could swim so he got me back the boat in 30 seconds and we kept playing that game all day long.I was very proud of Nature for getting the boat when I command.
