🌎 Toby's Summer Learning Journey 🌎
Day 1
Maui wanted to go fishing with his brothers but they didn't let him come with them. So Maui hid in his brothers canoe and when they had lowered the anchor he jumped out.
He used his grandmother's jawbone to fish up part of Aotearoa. The jawbone was covered in his own blood.
The north island is the fish that Maui pulled up. Maui's canoe is the south island.

Hi Toby!
It's awesome that you're able to come back and join us for the Summer Learning Journey! Rachel told me how much you loved blogging with us in the winter holidays so I hope you enjoy it just as much this time around!
Well done on making a start on the activities. These are some great facts you've learned about Maui. It sure is an interesting story and Maui had a pretty big job fishing up the North Island of Aotearoa!
Do you know of any other legends about Maui? I remember learning about Maui and the sun at school... He's got to be a strong guy I think!
Keep up the fantastic work Toby and have a great holiday!
Nicky :)
