Summer learning journey: Setting sail

On may journey I  would take...

  1. Peanut butter for energy.
  2. Dried fruit: apricots so I  have a bit of variety in food.
  3. Corned beef so I have some meat to eat.
  4. Freshwater so I don't die of dehydration.
  5. Bread so I have something to put my corned beef on.
  6. Nuts because they are yum.
  7. Vegetables, so life isn't too fun.
  8. Cheese to put on another piece of bread.
  9. Rice - cook before we leave and small batch cooking onboard.
  10. Honey to put on yet another piece of bread.

Kia ora Toby,

It is lovely meeting you! I am so excited that you are joining us for the Summer Learning Journey 2019-2020. Have you done this programme before?

This is my first year joining the Summer Learning Journey, and I am so excited that I get to read over the Manaiakalani blogs.

I’m really looking forward to summer, aren't you? In my spare time I like spending time at the beach and hanging out with my friends. I also enjoy going for walks and I absolutely love cooking and baking. What are you looking forward to doing this summer?

I really enjoyed reading through your list of what you would bring on your journey. I can tell you put a lot of thought into what you would bring. I think from your list I would most definitely take fresh water and dried fruit. I think they would stay fresh and last the distance! If you could only bring one or two items from this list on the journey, what would you bring?

Hi Toby, Mrs Collins again commenting on blogs over term break. Well done on posting and participating in the SLJ this year. I like the assortment of food and drink that you picked - do you have a favourite? Perhaps next time you could put all of the information on a DLO or an infographic?! Keep blogging, and commenting on others, to increase your chance of winning one of the awesome prizes and to keep up your learning over the school break!
